TV Program Review: "BattleBots". The show carries a 7.3/10 IMDb rating with the users giving it a 95%

Background: BattleBots is an American robot competition TV series. Competitors design and operate remote-controlled armed and armored machines designed to fight in an arena combat elimination tournament. Forty-eight next-generation robots, bigger, stronger and faster than before, take part in a single elimination tournament until there is a champion. In addition to the action, each episode also focuses in on the design and build elements of each robot, the builders' backstories and their determined pursuit of victory. The spectacle of the event is enhanced by the lack of weight-class, allowing for a wide variety of sizes and deadly weapons among the contenders.

For five seasons, BattleBots aired on the American Comedy Central with the first seasons premiered on August 30, 2000, and its fifth and last season ended on December 21, 2002.

A six-episode revival series premiered on ABC on June 21, 2015, to generally favorable reviews and ratings. Additionally, ABC renewed BattleBots for a seventh season, which premiered on June 23, 2016.

Though not officially cancelled, BattleBots was removed from the ABC website's list of current reality shows. In February 2018 the Discovery Channel picked up the show for its eighth season, which currently began airing its first episode of the season on May 11, 2018.

I bring this show to your attention because if you are not familiar with it I advise you check this out and definitely bring your kids to watch.  It is very kid friendly and you will find yourselves on the edge of your seat screaming out loud for your favorite robot.  There's commentary that brings you up to speed on all the contenders, including smack talk from the robot owners to get the crowds fired up.  Its truly a spectacle to watch.  If you are familiar with the show and haven't watched in some time....you may want to tune back in to see how they have improved over time.
