Netflix Docuseries 🎥 Review: “Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space”

Rated: TV 14 with a total of four 45 min episodes and an IMDb of 7.6/10.

A trailblazing mission captured in near-real time as four crew members make history in the first all-civilian mission into orbit.

Inspiration4 (stylized as Inspirati④n) is an upcoming human spaceflight mission operated by SpaceX on behalf of Shift4 Payments CEO Jared Isaacman. The mission aims to complete the first orbital spaceflight with only private citizens aboard, as part of an effort to raise awareness for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Four crew members, Hayley Arceneaux, Christopher Sembroski, Sian Proctor and Isaacman himself, will spend three days in orbit aboard Crew Dragon Resilience, which was outfitted with a cupola unique to this flight in place of a docking hatch. The four crew will represent the four values promoted by the mission: leadership, hope, generosity, and prosperity. The mission is planned to launch on 16 September 2021, from the Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A atop a twice-flown Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

If you’re a fan of space travel, you are about to see the early beginnings of a future for humans seeking interplanetary life. This is about as real as it gets. Very interesting process for choosing who gets to fly with touching stories of real people involved in the mission. The human element in this series is amazing. Parents should watch this with their children to sow them that with HOPE and PERSEVERANCE anything can be accomplished - be sure and watch the trailer - you’ll be hooked!

Leave it to Netflix to do a great job of documenting the sequence of events from the start to the flight. Of course many will comment about this being a plug for SpaceX, however you can easily look past that as you get wrapped up in the human element of this docuseries.

My only regret…………I was born too early for civilian space travel……..If only I could see the earth in person from afar!!
