Formula 1: Drive to Survive is a documentary series produced in collaboration between Netflix and Formula One to give an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the drivers and races of the 2018 and 2019 Formula One World Championships. The first season covering the 2018 World Championship premiered on 8 March 2019, and the second season covering the 2019 World Championship was released on Netflix on 28 February 2020. Filming for the 2020 season is currently underway.

If you are an avid fan of F1 racing I’m sure you will be familiar with the some of the content of this docuseries. If you’re not and only watched an occasional race from time to time, this will grab you by the seat of your pants and not let go!!.

The amount of information associated with the F1 teams and the very very young (under 25 years old) drivers is totally overwhelming. In the first episodes you will find yourself trying to keep up with the story lines and drivers, however as the episodes progress so does your knowledge and you will be able to buckle in for an amazing WILD RIDE.

The cinematography and sound is freaking amazing and definitely made for surround sound 5:1 or 7:1 systems if you have one. Be prepared for intense race scenes with shocking crashes in great slow-mo detail (watch the trailer above). I binged the first season (2018 race season) and headed to the second season (2019 race season).
