I’ll admit I had no clue what the back story was about the Williams family. First I learned of Venus and Serena Williams was in the late ‘90s. Even then all I knew was they were great tennis players. Although I'm not into tennis, there was no denying their talent.
This is a powerful film that takes you for an emotional ride that can be extremely intense one minute, then totally frustrated in another!
What I didn't know about was their life story the film "King Richard" looks at this from their father as a man who gave tough love out of a desire for his children to have a better life than he had.
It’s a great movie all around. Every cast member puts in a fine performance, and it's lovable to see the whole story play out.
Definitely want to see this one.
