Midnight Asia
Netflix Docuseries 🎥 Review: “Midnight Asia”
Rated: TV MA with the audience rating of 85% for the six 35 min episodes and an IMDb of 6.8/10.
Midnight Asia: Eat · Dance · Dream is an Asian food and travel documentary series that was released on Netflix on January 20, 2021. This series shows this side of the six megacities of Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, and Mumbai in a fresh way, shedding light on hidden gems, vibrant subcultures and captivating characters — all of whom are night owls. In doing so, it provides an alternative night-time guide to some of the most dynamic people and places in town.
“And Now for Something Completely Different” — First off if you’re someone that loves to travel, you’ll find this series informative and interesting to say the least! Having traveled to 2 of the 6 showcased cities (Tokyo several times and Bangkok twice between 1990 to 1994) it was very interesting to see how things have changed since I was there.
Each individual episode showcases its historical and cultural activities that take place when the sun goes down, drawing the younger generation out to partake in a wide variety of activities/sports event/restaurants and bars, allowing them to and feel comfortable being themselves.
Given that the series is a total of 3 hours and 50 minutes it’s very easy to binge in short order with a very diverse assortment of experiences from the other side of the earth.
Be sure and watch the trailer and like I said above - “And Now for Something Completely Different”
