The film follows a young man from a poor household who begins to tutor a rich family's daughter. Alongside his parents and sister, he slowly starts to infiltrate their personal lives allowing greed and class discrimination to threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.

Parasite is a 2019 South Korean black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho, who also wrote the film's story and co-wrote the screenplay with Han Jin-won. The film had its world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2019, where it won the Palme d'Or, becoming the first Korean film to receive the award and the first film to do so with a unanimous vote since 2013's Blue Is the Warmest Color. It was selected as the South Korean entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.

The film was released in South Korea by CJ Entertainment on 30 May 2019, and in the rest of the world by Neon in late-2019. It received widespread critical acclaim and earned $118 million worldwide, becoming Bong's highest-grossing release.

This is not your run-of-the-mill movie. It’s an amazing, intriguing comedic thriller. Clearly an essay on the class divide.

Do you want to see a movie that will have your stomach in knots, anxious throughout many scenes. Do you want to see a movie that will have you conflicted on who you're rooting for. Regardless of your answers, see Parasite. It ticks along quietly until it is booming in your ears.

It's an exciting and surprising ride from start to finish. The tone shifting in the second part of the film is done brilliantly. Even though there's so much activity happening, Bong doesn't lose control of his storytelling. On top of that, the ensemble cast deliver a top notch Oscar-worthy performance.

Either way a must watch if you can handle subtitles!……Critics and Users ratings tells you it’s worth the effort.
