First off for several of you if you don’t have an AppleTV subscription you won’t be able to see this film.

Secondly for me this was one of the absolute best war movies I have seen in may years, and I’ve seen them all!

NOTE: heres a trick that you can watch this for free. Just install the AppleTV app on your TV and sign up for the 3 month free (no obligation) option. Watch the Movie and any others you want to see then cancel before the 3 months are up….. that’s what I did……… :))

All I can say is WOW - another great Tom Hanks film. It definitely rivals the likes "Saving Private Ryan" & "Band of Brothers".

Unlike most war movies this one is a very intense naval war movie. It is non stop entertainment from start to end. You will definitely feel like you are involved in this film.

This is also the first time I’ve seen a war movie that is procedure of command. You don’t normally see this in films - however this was heavy on procedure and they did an amazing job of keeping you hanging on every word during the battles with the German Wolf Pack submarines.

Cast was also amazing in support of Hanks throughout the film and visually this was spectacular. The cinematography definitely brought realism to the scenes.

I’ve watching the trailer from time to time for this film hoping that I would be able to watch on NetFlix/Prime but AppleTV did NOT release to other streaming apps. So I had to bite the bullet and get the app to watch and man I’m I glad I did!

If you like war movies like I do this one is definitely for you. Very entertaining and worth the time to watch.

The film follows a US Navy commander on his first assignment commanding a multi-national escort destroyer group of four defending an Allied convoy of thirty-seven ships from German U-boats in early 1942 during the Battle of the Atlantic, shortly after the United States has officially entered World War II.
