Netflix Series 🎥 Review: “Peaky Blinders”.

Britain is a mixture of despair and hedonism in 1919 in the aftermath of the Great War. Returning soldiers, newly minted revolutions and criminal gangs are fighting for survival in a nation rocked by economic upheaval. One of the most powerful gangs of the time is the Peaky Blinders, run by returning war hero Thomas Shelby and his family. But Thomas has bigger ambitions than just running the streets. When a crate of guns goes missing, he recognizes an opportunity to advance in the world because crime may pay but legitimate business pays better. Trying to rid Britain of its crime is Inspector Chester Campbell, who arrives from Belfast to try to achieve that goal.

Peaky Blinders is a British crime drama television series created by Steven Knight, that premiered on BBC Two on 12 September 2013. In May 2018, after the show's Drama Series won at the BAFTA TV Awards, Knight confirmed his "ambition of making it a story of a family between two wars, and by ending it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham", which was 25 June 1940. After the conclusion of the fourth series, he confirmed that it would take another three series (seven in total) to complete the story up to that point. The fifth series premiered on BBC One on 25 August 2019 and finished on 22 September 2019.

All five seasons of the BBC series have had six episodes apiece, so barring a big shift we'd expect the next chapter to also follow that pattern. Odds are Peaky Blinders season six will appear on Netflix after it's been broadcast on BBC One, if it follows the same pattern as season five. Previous seasons suggest that it will land around the end of 2020, or early 2021. But it's not 100% clear at the moment.

We stumbled upon this Netflix series and started watching……I was absolutely amazed and enamored with it after just watching a couple episodes in season 1. As a result we binged all 5 Seasons (30 episodes) in a couple days. This is truly was one of the best shows I’ve seen on Netflix in a while. The acting is great, Cillian Murphy did a great job playing Tommy Shelby, along with all the other actors.

Each season is it’s own plot and all part of the bigger picture of how the Shelby family build their empire over the years. It has many twists & turns that will keep you extremely engaged and wanting more (hence the binging of 30 hours in a short time….LOL).

Peaky Blinders stands out from other shows with some of the most interesting story lines as the seasons go on. If you're looking for a great tv show to binge, this is it without a doubt!
