Movie 🎥 Review: “Sorry to Bother You”. Critics gave it a 95% the users an 64%. Rated: R.

In an alternate reality of present-day Oakland, Calif., telemarketer Cassius Green finds himself in a macabre universe after he discovers a magical key that leads to material glory. As Green's career begins to take off, his friends and co-workers organize a protest against corporate oppression. Cassius soon falls under the spell of Steve Lift, a cocaine-snorting CEO who offers him a salary beyond his wildest dreams.

Filming  began in June 2017 in Oakland. Sorry to Bother You premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2018 and was released in the United States on July 6, 2018. The film received positive reviews from critics, who praised the cast and concept, as well as the script and direction.

I can truly say that I haven't seen such a crazy film as I have with this one.  It's one of the wildest comedies I have experienced in a long time.  It's eccentric and imperfect but very original and very enjoyable. Critics are raving over Boots Riley's script and direction (hence the 95% rating).

A word to the wise........this movie is not for everyone (as you can see by the users rating of 65%).  It has a message that packs a punch and gets to the heart of issues that we're all familiar with. It has a modern, up-to-date look to an early day movie -- "Being John Malkovich".
