If you have a problem and there is nowhere else to turn, the mysterious and elusive Robert McCall will deliver the vigilante justice you seek. This time, however, McCall's past cuts especially close to home when thugs kill Susan Plummer -- his best friend and former colleague. Now out for revenge, McCall must take on a crew of highly trained assassins who'll stop at nothing to destroy him.

Talks of an Equalizer sequel began seven months prior to the release of the first film in 2014. The film was officially announced in April 2015 with Washington set to reprise his role and in September 2016 Fuqua confirmed he would return to direct. Filming began in September 2017, and took place in Boston, as well as several other areas around Massachusetts and Istanbul, Turkey. It marks the first time Denzel Washington has ever starred in a sequel to one of his films.

The Equalizer 2 was released in the United States on July 20, 2018.  The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Washington's performance and the action sequences but criticized the pacing and messy plot.

As you can see by the critics 50% review they were right on with the praise for Washingtons performance, however I agree totally about the dragged out pace and jumbled plot........good but not great!

Nonetheless I really enjoyed Washington's character and how much of a bad ass he is in the film. I'm not sorry I went to the movies to see this. Would advise that if you haven't see the original Equalizer that you seek it out and watch before seeing this one.  Then if you're not a real fan you might want to wait till it's released for On-Demand, Netflix or Red Box to see it.
