The Hateful Eight
Movie 🎥 Review: “The Hateful Eight”. Critics gave it a 74% the users an 87%. Rated: R (for strong bloody violence, a scene of violent sexual content, language and some graphic nudity)
While racing toward the town of Red Rock in post-Civil War Wyoming, bounty hunter John "The Hangman" Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive prisoner Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) encounter another bounty hunter Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson) and the soon-to-be-appointed sheriff of Red Rock, Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins). Hoping to find shelter from a blizzard, the group travels to a stagecoach stopover (Minnie's Haberdashery) located on a mountain pass. Greeted there by four strangers, the eight travelers soon learn that they may not make it to their destination after all.
The movies release date was December 25, 2015. Its directed and narrated by Quentin Tarantino. Make no mistake this is TRUE Tarantino with all it's bazaar and macabre scenes that you'll never see coming. Coupled up with his wild taste for a music score (by Ennio Morricone) and filmed in "Panavision ULTRA 70 makes this truly a killer entertaining experience.
Tarantino's eighth movie is long, moving inevitably toward an expected, brutally violent climax, but along the way the colorful characters and playful dialogue provide a twisted good time. The one-room pressure-cooker setting, plus the presence of Michael Madsen and Tim Roth, may remind viewers of "Reservoir Dogs", which can be both good and bad. The insanity of “The Hateful Eight” gives up everything (and the kitchen sink).
HEADS UP: for those of you with sensitive eyes and ears you may not be able to make it through this film. I'm just giving you fair warning now in case you're not familiar with Tarantino films.
Tonight was the third time I've seen this movie since it's release. It has a mystic to it that is hypnotic and keeps me coming back to watch it once a year. All I can say is if you like his movies (e.g. Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill: Volume 1 & 2, Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained) you'll love this one!
Below is the The Hateful Eight - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Live) Overture. This is the haunting music from the movie that you never get out of your head after you see it!!
