The New Pope

NOTE: This review is the sequel to my previously posted review - “The Young Pope”. Before you watch this episode I HIGHLY advise you to watch The Young Pope first. These 2 seasons are exquisitely tied together and I don’t want you miss anything.

Once again HBO aces it!!. I am never disappointed with HBO. They are not afraid to tackle the most controversial subjects. Point in case this sequel to season 1’s “The Young Pope”. If you look at reviews online there are way more 10/10’s and 9/10’s than I’ve seen before.

For me this is an 11/10……Cinematography is absolutely beautifully. This series bring to the forefront the magnitude of baggage in the history of the church (please understand I am NOT judging here, just stating the obvious with respect to film making). It has an amazing soundtrack with the most uniquely written script. The cast of characters and acting is superb. It’s 9 hours of dialog with not one irrelevant second. Attention to detail is over the top.

I’ve said this before that this show is not for everyone based on your faith and upbringing. However I will say these 2 seasons are exquisite film making. If you can get past the bias and watch it for the quality film it is, you’re in for a treat.

There is talk of a Season 3………I’ll we watching to see if this comes to pass!
