Zombieland: Double Tap is a 2019 American zombie comedy film directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and David Callaham. Talk of a Zombieland sequel began before the release of the first installment, with Reese and Wernick suggesting ideas, and the cast voicing their desire to make a second film. However, the project languished in development hell for several years before finally being confirmed in July 2018. The four main stars and Fleischer all signed on that month, while additional cast members, including Dawson and Wilson, joined in early 2019. Filming took place from January to March 2019. It was released in the United States on October 18, 2019, by Sony Pictures Releasing under its Columbia Pictures label.
I can say right up front that I was very entertained. If you saw the original and enjoyed it you’ll love this one. It’s a bigger budget, new characters and awesome soundtrack! I laughed outloud several times along with the others in the theater. Suspenseful bits were great and the surprises were perfect. Just saying I was very satisfied with everything.
Keep in mind it’s a comedic new twist to Walking Dead Zombies…….not rocket science! Nonetheless It’s worth the price of admission at the big screen. I’d give it a 7/10 for sure.
