Seasoned musician Jackson Maine discovers and falls in love with a struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally's career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

A Star Is Born premiered at the 75th Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2018, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 5, 2018, by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film has grossed $71 million worldwide and received critical acclaim, with praise for Cooper and Gaga's performances, Cooper's direction, the screenplay, the cinematography, and the music.

Fueled by strong performances and Cooper's precise direction, A Star is Born is a moving (and tear-jerking) love story. Its a remake done right and a reminder that some stories can be just as effective in the retelling (in this case in my opinion much better the 2nd time around). A total emotional knockout, but it's also a movie that gets you to believe, at every step with complicated feelings of intense pleasure of the story it's telling.

This movie was so well done that as you sat in the theater you don’t know what’s going on around you — it’s that spell bounding. Toped off with an amazing sound track, brilliant photography, places this movie in the Phenomenal category.

I’m thinking Academy Award nominations good!
