On July 18, 1969, Sen. Ted Kennedy drives his car off of a bridge on Massachusetts' Chappaquiddick Island. The accident results in the death of passenger Mary Jo Kopechne, a 28-year-old campaign strategist who worked for Kennedy. The ongoing investigation into the mysterious and scandalous events forever alters his political legacy and ultimately changes the course of presidential history.

The film stars Jason Clark as Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy and Kate Mara as Mary Jo Kopechne, with Ed Helms, Bruce Helms, Jim Gaffigan, Clancy Brown and Olivia Thirlby in supporting roles.

The principal photography began in Boston in September 2016. The film originally premiered at the Gala Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2017 and was released in the United States on April 6, 2018. It received generally positive reviews from critics, with praise for its balanced screenplay and Clarke's performance.

"Chappaquidick" true story will leave you with the understanding of the influential "money men" behind the political management of elected officials i.e. President of the U.S.  The people on the parole will amaze you as to their abilities to spin the truth to influence the American people into what ever they want in order to win elections.  Sometimes even the best of laid plans go by the way side.

Great movie to watch for historical information and one to keep in the back of your mind when ever you hear the words "FAKE NEWS"
