Former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford (Dwane Johnson) now assesses security for skyscrapers. He's on assignment in China when he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he's been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family, which is trapped inside the building, above the fire line.

Filming began in September 2017 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was released in the United States on July 13, 2018, in 2D and 3D, and has grossed $65 million worldwide against its production budget of around $125 million. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Johnson's performance but criticized the clichéd script for being too similar to Die Hard and The Towering Inferno.

Say what you want about this being a predictable movie, however the dilemmas that are presented to Dwane throughout the film are nonetheless exciting and really tense.  They will cause you to squirm in your seat and maybe even look away for a moment.  The CGI is amazing bringing the intensity of the scenes alive and in your face.  We saw it in Real 3D and it make it all that much better.

We walked away realizing we saw a modernized Die Hard/Towering Inferno, however we were very much entertained and enjoyed the movie.  I would however recommend that you wait for it to come out on On-Demand, Netflix or Red Box.
