Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden car, wily con artist Teddy Murretto hatches a plan to hide out from lethal assassin Bob Viddick. He punches rookie officer Valerie Young to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. However, jail can't protect Murretto for long as Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission.

COPSHOP is a 2021 American action thriller film directed by Joe Carnahan and written by Kurt McLeod and Carnahan, based on a story by McLeod and Mark Williams. The film was released in the United Kingdom on September 10, 2021, by STXfilms, and was released in the United States on September 17, 2021, by Open Road Films.

This is an intense thrill ride complete with chaos, gun fights, dark comedy and amazing cinematography. Pacing was good, once the action began it was relentless. Story build up was complete and closed all the gaps to bring you to a phenomenal ending.

As the movie progresses you’ll begin to see three levels of characters in this movie (1) cops who you can relate to (2) less evil criminals and (3) ultra-evil criminals. They do a clever job of not specifically letting you know which category a character falls into.

Bottom Line: It’s is a great thriller, funny, witty and tense with some satisfyingly unpredictable moments. It's extremely well filmed and suitably stylish with lots of energy. The music by Clinton Shorter is excellent.

I found the film on my Xfinity On-Demand for $19.99. It can also be found on Apple TV, Vudu and Amazon Prime Video - all for $19.99 rental fee. No matter where you find it it’s worth the cost of rental.
