Dune (titled onscreen as Dune: Part One) is a 2021 American epic science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve with a screenplay by Jon Spaihts, Villeneuve, and Eric Roth. It is the first of a planned two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, primarily covering the first half of the book.

Think back to when “STAR WARS” hit the big screen and we were all blown away from the story and the high tech quality of the film. Well DUNE has far surpassed those days with one of the most epic science fiction films I’ve seen in a long time. The visual side of this movie was staggering with cinematography is over the top along with the sound production and story line. Special effects looked as real as it gets. Costumes are spot on and the verbiage dovetails with previous Star Wars films along with Game Of Thrones and several others you will undoubtedly recognize throughout the film. The film has an amazing ensemble cast that is easy to relate to. This film was made for 3D/Surround Sound. I strongly advise you to use your surround sound if you have it or see the film at the Theater! I was able to watch on HBO MAX using my 5:1 surround sound (turned way up) and it made the film phenomenal to watch.

Bottom Line: Dune is an amazing science fiction film which is spectacular and epic. Looking forward to Part 2 (fingers crossed). It delivered with a great world building story, visual effects, and action. This is a 100% movie going experience and deserves to be seen on the big screen theaters if you don’t have Hi-Tech capabilities at home. For me it’s a 9/10!! Check out the trailer - Don’t miss it.
