In rural England, 1865, a woman who is trapped in a loveless marriage to a much older man begins a passionate affair with a man her own age.  Macbeth suppresses her instincts toward compassion, motherhood, and fragility — associated with femininity — in favor of ambition, ruthlessness, and the singleminded pursuit of power.

I must say this was a very strange movie to watch.  The lure in the scenes will captivate you into wanting to see what follows.  Much of the power of this punishingly movie comes from then 19-year-old Florence Pugh’s (Kathrine) arresting performance. Katherine is forced to maintain a strict schedule and prevented from leaving the house. Boris (her father-in-law played by Christopher Fairbank) scolds her for not giving Alexander (her husband played by Paul Hilton) a son, but Alexander's sexual interest in his wife seems to be limited to watching her naked body. One day, both Boris and Alexander have to leave the estate for separate business matters, leaving Katherine alone with the housemaid named Anna (played by Naomi Ackie). For the first time in memory, she is free to explore the area to alleviate her boredom.

This movie is very powerful and spell bounding.  One of few words but a lot of intensity.  We discover this movie on HBO and spent the afternoon watching.  We both enjoyed this movie very much.  If you watch it be aware that you might be asking yourselves what am I watching, however stick with it.....you wont be sorry!
