Lenox Hill is a documentary television series that premiered on Netflix on June 10, 2020. The premise mainly revolves around the lives of four medical professionals in the areas of neurosurgery, emergency medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology at the Lenox Hill Hospital.
This series comes from the executive producer of “Wild Wild Country” and “The Keepers” and if you’ve seen either of those show you know your are in for an amazing experience.
I can honestly say this is a must watch. You will cry, laugh and get angry throughout the episodes, on top of the fact that you won’t be able to stop watching. The series gives you an in depth look and the unwavering dedication, kindness and tenacity these doctors have for their patients.
This is REAL tv…..everything you see is as it happens. They do a magnificent job of bringing to light the trials and tribulations of the neurosurgeons, ER doctors and OBYGNs in both their professional and personal lives.
A little heads for those of you that have difficulty watching actual surgeries, they do take you into the OR’s several times and you will see them operating in real time. So be warned! However given that, once you get into this series you won’t be able to turn away from the moments that will touch your heart in ways you never thought it could. No actors here…..the real doctors. Dr Boockvar, Dr Langer, and Dr Marci are very compassionate, intelligent, and motivated.
This docu series is truly spectacular with rich story telling and beautiful cinematography. Interesting take on how NYC is treated like a 5th character. It was great to see the frontline caregivers before Covid which makes you realize they were heroes all along. I truly hope there is a season 2.
It's actually the best medical documentary I have ever seen….Well done Netflix.
