Movie 🎥 Review: “Miss Bala". Critics gave it a 29% the users an 44%. Rated: R with a running time of 1 hr and 53 mins with an IMDb of 6.5/10Cast: Gina Rodriguez, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Anthony Mackie, Aislinn Derbez, Matt Lauria, Cristina Rodlo, Ricardo Abarca & Thomas Dekker.

This is the story of a 23 year old girl from Tijuana named Laura who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets involved involuntarily with a drug lord who forces her to take part in his criminal activities for the following days.

The film was released in the United States on February 1, 2019, by Columbia Pictures. While Rodriquez' performance received some praise, critics compared the film unfavorably (as you can see above) to the original, saying it suffered from "bland action and predictable story beats"

This is a dramatic, creepy, draggingly interesting twist on a drug lord film. Technically this movie impresses, with solid acting and location shooting, in a fresh way to make you feel a part of the struggles.

This Latin America film is low-key, being removed from Hollywood formulas like modern foreign cinematography, being unusual, distinct and intense. Its independence makes it, with memorable ground-shots and a patience requiring build up to the horror expected.

Although I was entertained watching the film in no way was this a great movie, the critics and users ratings reflect this without a doubt.

I would highly recommend that you wait for this to come out on, Netflix, Prime or Red Box to watch it if it interests you at all.
