Being a Tom Hanks fan for many decades gave me that gut feel that this would be a great movie. Turns out its a great quality movie with an amazing cast. It does an amazing job of telling Otto’s story at just the right pace to keep you wondering and guessing throughout the film.

The film is about how one unlikely friendship can change someone's life for the better. Otto a grumpy (understatement) widower who is very set in his ways life is changed when he meets his new neighbor, a pregnant Marisol and her young family.

For me this is where the film takes off and becomes the intriguing story that bonds you to the movie. Its a delightful comedy drama full of joy and hilarity, but also with moments of heartfelt emotion.

The film was made for Hanks who gives a fantastic performance as Otto, highlighting his comedic range while also demonstrating the deep emotional depths of a man attempting to find companionship in a world that doesn't conform to his elevated expectations and obsession with rules.

I highly recommend that you watch this movie. It provides a thought-provoking look at life, love, and the importance of friendship.

When a lively young family moves in next door, grumpy widower Otto Anderson meets his match in a quick-witted, pregnant woman named Marisol, leading to an unlikely friendship that turns his world upside down.
