Napoleon

I watched this movie hoping it was an exciting film and I can honest say that 2 hrs and 38 mins was way too long to watch this little horny bustard try to take over the world……LOL

You think you’re so great because you have boats!
— Napoleon Bonaparte:

I’ve always questioned Phoenix's casting in past movies. I didn’t feel like he got completely into character as others could rightfully do.

Sometimes engaging, often dull, mostly just watchable. I enjoyed the battle scenes and his ravaging sex drive for his wife Josephine. He doesn’t care where they are, when he wants it HE WANTS IT!

Ridley Scott did a great job with the battle scenes, particularly the one over the frozen water. Costumes and set design was over the top.

Joaquin Phoenix was ok in the role but he's had way better performances in movies like Gladiator and Joker. Vanessa Kirby as Josephine absolutely stole the show here.

Overall it's an entertaining movie one to watch if you get the time.

An epic that details the checkered rise and fall of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his wife, Josephine.
