Background: An eccentric dress maker Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) are the center of fashion in London in the 1950's. This well known bachelor is doing very well for himself in his "own quirky" way until he meets Alma (Vicky Krieps) a very strong-willed woman who has plans of her "own".

Anyone who is a Daniel Day-Lewis fan would be expecting to see him in full on character in this movie. Although he is, you'll come away with a Vickey Krieps movie that will leave you captivated and highly entertained.

A point of interest here is about 1/2 way through the movie both Mercy and I realized it was so quiet in the theater you could hear a pin drop, and stayed that way to the end.

It was a very meticulous, exquisite and will have you hanging on its every word and silent scenes. It truly is a strange (in a good way) movie.

p.s. for those of you that go see this movie......Mercy is my Alma (Spanish translation "soul")
