In 1989, the Ebola virus appears in chimpanzees in a research lab in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., and there is no known cure; a U.S. Army scientist puts her life on the line to head off an outbreak before it spreads to the human population.

On October 16, 2014, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Ridley Scott again planned to adapt the book, this time as a television miniseries for NatGeo. Kelly Souders, Brian Peterson, and Jeff Vintar wrote the pilot. Julianna Margulies starred as Nancy Jaax. Filming began in September 2018. Lynda Obst again produced the series. The miniseries aired from May 27 to May 29, 2019.

For me this was a frightening eye opener. The most disturbing thing is how governments refuse to see the truth because of negative reactions. The story is well written, the acting is incredible, great casting. Julianna Margulies is such a talented actor. For me if she's in a movie or TV show I know it's going to be good. This series is no exception, it's riveting.

Seeing the bio hazard symbol used in movies and TV shows has almost become a cliche and it makes me wary about watching it but this is worth watching. It's exciting and scary yet by the end I wonder when governments are finally going to acknowledge we have an environmental problem here on Earth that needs to be addressed.

This is a docudrama that does an excellent job of recapturing the past. It should be a wake up call for all to be aware of the seriousness of this deadly virus that HAS NO CURE! There is some blood and gore but not too much. Because of the subject matter I would only recommend this series for a mature audience. It is well worth your time.
