Broke, alone and facing foreclosure on his business, Earl Stone takes a job as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. His immediate success leads to easy money and a larger shipment that soon draws the attention of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates. When Earl's past mistakes start to weigh heavily on his conscience, he must decide whether to right those wrongs before law enforcement and cartel thugs catch up to him.

The Mule is a 2018 American crime film produced and directed by Clint Eastwood, who also plays the lead role. The screenplay is by Nick Schenk, based on The New York Times article "The Sinaloa Cartel's 90-Year-Old Drug Mule" by Sam Dolnick. The film is inspired by the true story of Leo Sharp, a World War II veteran in his 80s who became a drug dealer and courier for the Sinaloa Cartel.

The Mule was released in the United States on December 14, 2018, by Warner Bros. Pictures. It received mixed reviews from critics, who called it "poignant and charming" and praised Eastwood's performance, but also noted the lack of true dramatic heft.

For me Eastwood does it again!. In every way it is great, from the acting to the story to the pacing. It was gripping and engaging from the very start to the powerful ending. He gets right to the heart of the story engaging the audience to feel every bit of this film, making it a great experience.

To me the Mule is up there with his best films such as Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven, Letters from Iwo Jima, American Sniper and Grand Torino. One has to ask at his age of 88, how many more great films has he left in him!

This is one not to be missed. It deserves a lot of attention come Oscar time!
