Movie 🎥 Review: “The Protégé”

The Protégé is a 2021 American action thriller film directed by Martin Campbell, written by Richard Wenk. The film was released on August 20, 2021 by Lionsgate. It received mixed reviews from critics and has grossed $8 million.

Saw the trailer and thought given the cast this would be something I would enjoy. It definitely is a “Shoot’em Up Bang Bang” if you up for one. Pace is good, story line interesting but somewhat predictable with several interesting twists!. The action is worth the watch. I ended up renting on HBOMAX for $19.99.

The stunts and action scenes were impressive and I appreciate the violence, which wasn't over the top but wasn't minimal either. Keaton's chemistry with Maggie sells the movie with Jackson doing what he does best in films.

Maggie Q portrayed as a "Jane Wick" looks to close out the 2021 Summer Movie scene and is a must see for action film fans.
